Overall Process for Opening an Account

Here is a step-by-step guide to the entire account opening process, from preparing your documents to receiving your card. The process typically takes 2 to 6 weeks after we receive your documents.

STEP 1: Preliminary Preparation (1 day)

  • Prepare your passport, proof of address, and the initial fee equivalent to USD800
  • Open an account with our center (click here)

STEP 2: Online Application (Same Day – 2 Days)

  • Enter your profile on our center’s management screen
  • Download the PDF application form → Print → Sign → Scan
  • Upload the scanned PDF and a photo of yourself

STEP 3: JDB Bank Review (2–6 weeks)

  • JDB checks KYC and AML
  • Respond promptly if additional documents are requested

STEP 4: Account opening complete → Card dispatched

  • You will be issued an account number and SWIFT code (BIC: JDBKLALAXXX)
  • VISA debit function included Receive our center’s application form via international mail to Japan
  • Initial setup of JDB Yes (Mobile Banking)

STEP 5: First Transfer → Start Using the Account

  • Deposit initial funds via SWIFT transfer from a Japanese bank
  • Transfer to a USD-denominated checking or savings account
  • Start using your VISA debit card
